Industrial Half Apron

$110.00

Unisex apron handmade from quality Australian Oilskin. This lightweight comfortable apron is designed for those messy indoor or outdoor tasks that require protection from moisture, debris and dirt.

Not only does this apron look amazing but is suitable as a protective apron in harsh environments like working in the shed, potting plants, serving beverages or brewing beer just to name a few.

The half apron features a large front pocket and cotton waist ties long enough to tie at the front. The apron has a cool industrial look and feel. The oilskin fabric will take on a weathered leathery look as it ages adding to the apron’s character.

Specific sizes, styles and colours can be made to order to suit your business.

Cleaning:

1. soak in a tub of cold water or hang outside and hose down

2. remove debris by brushing with a stiff brush

3. rinse in cold water

4. allow the product to dry naturally — good air circulation, not in direct sunlight or close to a heat source

Do not place in a washing machine. The apron is not suitable to be used near naked flames as oilskin can be flammable. Whilst the product is still new, the oils from the oilskin fabric could rub off onto clothing.

Traditional waxed cotton or oilskin is a characterful fabric that softens and evolves with wear, developing a unique patina over time. As with any waxed item, high temperatures are to be avoided.

Oilskin is 100% cotton/canvas treated with a mixture of linseed oil/paraffin wax.  This gives the fabric a weatherproof breathable character and prolongs the life of the product.

Oilskin was used in the early days before synthetics and is still used today in outdoor camping equipment and clothing.   There is a famous Australian company that sells oilskin products, in particular raincoats.

The proper care and storage will prolong the life of your oilskin product.  Your product should be stored in a ventilated area and not in a damp cupboard or plastic storage box/bag.   .

While the product is new, it will feel a little greasy and some residue of oil and wax could rub off or absorb onto other surfaces and fabric.   Over time the oilskin will naturally dry out.  Your bag will develop a beautiful weathered leathery look with loads of character getting better with age.

Follow care instructions for Oilskin products.
